There is a lot planned for Canada Day (July 1st) in Niagara Falls this year including music, food and parades. The events will mainly take place downtown on Queen Street. Expect a Motorcycle Show and WingFest.
The Niagara Falls Concert Band will be performing outside the Niagara Falls Public Library before the annual Parade. Music will be from 9:30am t0 10:30am. The parade will begin at 11am sharp. Expect costumed characters, floats and bands. The parade starts on Victoria Avenue at Jepson and travels north along Victoria Avenue.
July 1st also starts the unofficial Niagara Daredevil season. Many of the most memorable daredevil attempts took place in July. Karel Soucek survived a July 3 plunge over the falls to become the first Canadian to go over Horseshoe Falls. Jean Lussier and George Stathakis attempted plunges on July 4th. Other attempts in July include Nathan T. Boya and Charles Stephens.
