Passport Information

  • PASSPORT REQUIRED for US citizens traveling to Canada by car and returning home.
  • PASSPORT REQUIRED for Canadian citizens traveling to the US by car and returning home.
  • PASSPORT REQUIRED for US citizens flying into and returning home through any US border airport and traveling to Canada by car.
  • PASSPORT REQUIRED for all air and sea travel for US citizen entering into Canada require a passport.

Crossing the Border

About 30 million visitors cross the border every year from the United States into Canada and an additional 18 million visitors arrive by boat or airplane from the USA and every other nation on earth. Visit the Canada Customs website for more general information to make the crossing easier.
